"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come…Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution…All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work…I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.” (2 Tim 3-4)
As your deacons, who are called of God to serve, we seek to follow the will of God as He leads the church to stand firm against the challenges we face today. We believe in the Word of God and its power and love in order to help guide us to be a light in our community and throughout the world. We have prayerfully sought the man of God to help shepherd the church to follow the vision God has set forth and that will seek to lead our church to stand firm on God’s word. We have spoken with many of you about the matter during this time as well. We firmly believe that God is calling Buddy Morehead to become pastor of Lattimore Baptist Church.
Therefore, we make the following motion:
That the church bypasses the appointment of a Pastor’s Search Committee and that we hire Buddy Morehead as our pastor. At the pastor’s request, the salary will remain as approved by the church on May 15, 2022. He will be given four (4) Sunday’s vacation per year.
We will vote on the calling during our regular business conference June 26, 2022 at the close of the morning worship hour. We encourage everyone to be present for the vote in support of the work God is doing in our church. Until then, we ask that you spend time in prayer, seeking how God is leading you to vote. And as importantly, we ask that you also spend time in prayer asking God how you can become a more vital part of the church ministry moving forward.
